Cross Country Runners Earn Herald-Standard All-Area Honors

Middle School Cross Country Runners Set New Marks

Steven Gwyn and Anastasia Georgagis each earned a 2nd place finish in a meet against Brownsville, Washington, Ft. California Girls Cross Country Team Earns Sweep

The girls cross country team swept Belle Vernon, Fort Cherry, McGuffey, and Chartiers-Houston, each by a score of 15-50,  yesterday afternoon at Chartiers Houston.  Makayla Boda led the way, finishing 2nd overall with a time of 23:27.  Bre Trusler and Deja Walker also finished in the top 10 with times of 25:47 and 26:52, respectively. 

Trojan Cross Country team Sweeps Avella, Splits with West Greene

Charles Roberts finished 1st overall for the boys as the Cross Country team swept Avella 21-34 and West Greene 22-33.  Roberts’ winning time of 17:33 missed the course record by a mere 11 seconds.  The boys are now 2-2 on the season. Roberts and Boda finish 1st, respectively, at Waynesburg

Charles Roberts was the 1st runner overall (18:30) in the boys race at Waynesburg Central High School in a five team meet with  Waynesburg, Burgettstown, Chartier-Houston, and Fort Cherry.  The boys team, however, fell short in losing to Waynesburg (27-29) and Burgettstown (23-33) to fall to 0-2 on the season.  Score was not kept against

Cross Country team information

Cross country practice begins Monday, August 13 at 7:30 AM.  Meet in the high school fitness room.  Students must turn in a physical to be able to participate.  This is for any student in grades 7-12.  Looking for beginning runners and experienced runners alike.  Contact Coach Matt Loomis with any questions:  loomism@calsd.org  

Boda Competes at PIAA State Championship

Makayla Boda, the first California Trojan to compete at the PIAA Cross Country Championships, finished 121st out of 227 runners in the Class A race with a time of 22:15.  Congratulations on a great season!
